Chrysanthemum Tattoo

Chrysanthemum Tattoo is an often part of a Japanese tattoo theme, here we are creating a floral tattoo design. Filling up the area above the elbow this tattoo will eventually blend together with the large lotus flower on the top of the shoulder.

Japanese Demon Tattoo

Japnese tattoo motifs often show demon and other characters from  past legends of history. This demon haunts near the ocean as represented with the waves. So sometime I get to tattoo a demon and other time its an Angel. Never a dull moment around the tattoo shop.

Tenyo with drum

Tenyo with drum. A Buddhist angel with drum tattoo, done in fineline and soft colors  mimicking water colors in the tattoo. Angels in Japan are often shown as beautiful women.

Hokusai Fishermen

Japanese art is so inspirational for tattoos. Hokusai was a very prolific artist in 18th century Japan. His most famous work is the Great Wave Most of his work would end up as wood block prints and featured the stoic life around Mt Fuji

Wednesday

Cherry Blossoms

Cherry Blossoms Mixing of Katatana and Kanji to say something special in Japanese, with the added Cherry Blossoms, makes for a beautiful tattoo. Hey if you are getting something written in Japanese or Chinese make sure it is a correct translation! Yes real and accurate translations of what you want to say in your tattoo.
Don't make the mistake of a bad tranlation!

Golden Pagoda, Tattoo Cover up

pagoda tattoo OK so you got her name on your arm... no problem. Creating a new image is the best way to cover it up. So here is what I did...Golden Pagoda
Drawn from a picture, I took while in Japan a number of years ago,The Golden Pagoda reflecting in a tranquil pond. When I took the picture I knew that someday I would tattoo the image.Dragon tattoo

Another reworked tattoo, here once laid a mighty dragon ( but poorly done)but time has shown that some thing are better off fading. I reworked the dragon and added some stars and his signature logo "Chef in Thyme".
