Flowers in Pastel

Starting with the existing rose, I reworked the rose  and then added the free flowing flowers. Soft colors and spring flowers make this unique tattoo.

Chrysanthemum Tattoo

The blue chrysanthemum graces her side. Japanese style tattoos often feature the chrysanthemum,a very favored flower in the Japanese culture.

Purple Passion Flower Tattoo

What a great way to show off your favorite color as a big purple flower tattoo on your shoulder.

This free hand flower tattoo was drawn to fit the shoulder. When choosing a tattoo remember that anything that you decide on should fit the body part that you are tattooing. Tattoo look better when they are properly placed and sized to fit.

For me, it is always fun tattooing flowers. The free flowing lines can lead anywhere you want. This tattoo started with the lily and butterfly, they needed to be more connected and brightened up. Adding the blue flowers creates a contrast to the orange of the lily.

Cherry Blossoms

Cherry blossom show up on all parts of the body, sometimes as stand alone tattoos or incorporated into much larger tattoos. Here are a couple examples of stand alone branches. Often part of a Japanese theme tattoo and found in classic old school American style tattoos.

A freehand tattoo of Plumara flowers floating around the ankle. Tattoos that show motion are some of my favorite to do, unlike jewelery an anklet doesn't have to just around  to stay on. 

Monarch Butterfly Tattoo

Summertime always brings with it butterflies. You see them flying around and they can be inspiration to get tattooed. Looking to create a realistic butterfly and classic flower this is what I came up with. Tattoos that flow with the body make a nice statement.

The Art of Cover up Tattoos

So it seemed like a good idea at the time, but no matter what you tattoo on your skin you can always have it altered or covered up. Recently I covered up some names and some old tattoos that have out lived their glitter.

The after tattoo is complete and there is no sign of the old tattoo. Flowers on the lower back is a much better tattoo designs. So think before you ink. A well placed tattoo can be changed in the future when it has out lived its charm.

Time for a little Color!

Here is another veiw of the Mom tattoo I did earlier, we have added the black and deep blue to start the japanese style background. There is more to come with this tattoo.
The bird of paradise is a beautiful tropical flower and makes for a great tattoo. This flower is meant to remember a loved one.

Dogwood Flowers, Natalie's New tattoo

Just a little tattoo, pink dogwood flowers across the shoulders. Cool! I really like tattoos that move across the body and are not just stuck on one body part.

Dog Rose?

Well it was the first I had heard of it, but the Dog Rose grows wild in England. This was a fun tattoo to do as the tattooed is real happy with the results. A little larger than life roses make a big impact as a tattoo.
Wild flowers will not be tamed. These flowers I did about 4 years ago and recently added the wording. Flowers are great themes for tattoos with bright colors and varying styles.

Why not get that name? It can always be covered up.

Now the finished tattoo. I think it will be better to go through the rest of your life with a nice looking tattoo that doesn't look like a cover up. The finished tattoo doesn't just cover the old tattoo well, it also looks like it was designed and placed where it belongs.
